We are seeking a Product Compliance Manager (f/m/d) to ensure Apaleo's platform remains compliant with fiscal, legal, and hospitality-specific requirements across all supported markets. In this role, you will proactively monitor regulatory developments, assess their impact on the product, and collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to translate complex legal and fiscal obligations into clear, actionable guidance. Your work will support audit readiness, reduce compliance risk, enable seamless hotel operations, and drive sustainable global growth, safeguarding both our customers and the scalability of our platform. What You'll Be Up To Regulatory Intelligence & Country Strategy Monitor regulatory developments across operating markets (fiscal, tax, invoicing, e-invoicing mandates, guest registration, VAT, data privacy) Contribute to and maintain the product compliance roadmap Provide early risk assessments and deadline visibility Provide input into market prioritization based on regulatory complexity, risk, and business impact Define clear country-level compliance requirements and constraints Product Design & Implementation Review and shape compliance-critical product workflows Translate regulatory requirements into structured product specifications (data models, audit trails, reporting, APIs, event flows) Partner with Engineering to ensure audit-ready implementations Participate in fiscal integration design reviews (e.g., Fonoa, Invopop, Efsta) Provide compliance validation and release recommendations for compliance-critical changes Country Readiness & Go-Live Validate fiscal and regulatory flows before market launch Assess and communicate country readiness status: Supported / Supported with constraints / Not ready Define compliance acceptance criteria and test scenarios Ensure documentation supports audits and certifications External Partners & Commercial Support Approve configurations and verify compliance certifications with fiscal partners Maintain alignment with third-party integrations and regulatory bodies Support Sales and Customer Success in complex regulatory discussions Reduce deal risk by proactively identifying compliance constraints Documentation & Continuous Monitoring Maintain a structured repository of country rules and regulatory logic Develop compliance playbooks, checklists, and guidelines Track regulatory changes and drive product updates end-to-end Monitor incidents and continuously improve compliance processes What You'll Bring to the Team Degree in Law, Tax, Accounting, Finance, or related field 4+ years in product compliance or regulatory roles within SaaS/tech (fintech or hospitality tech preferred) Strong understanding of fiscal regulations, invoicing mandates, tax reporting, and data protection across multiple jurisdictions Proven ability to independently own projects from planning through delivery Experience translating complex regulations into clear, actionable product requirements Strong analytical thinking and stakeholder management skills Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical compliance topics to non-technical audiences Nice to Have: Knowledge of European fiscal regulations (Germany, Spain, Italy, France) Experience with API-based fiscal integrations and tax authority platforms Professional certifications in tax or compliance What success looks Like in the first 6-12 months Countries launch on time with full regulatory compliance Product teams receive clear, early, and actionable compliance guidance Compliance risks are identified early, minimizing go-live blockers and post-launch incidents Sales and Customer Success confidently address regulatory topics Compliance becomes a strategic growth enabler What We Offer Culture & Growth A Diverse & International Team: Work alongside passionate professionals from over 20 nationalities, bringing unique cultural perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences to shape the future of hospitality tech.
