Commissioning Engineer Location: Germany Company: ILOS Scope: Full-time / Hybrid WHO ARE ILOS? Since 2018, we have developed, built, and operated large-scale solar PV projects across seven core markets. THE ROLE OVERVIEW As Commissioning Engineer, you will be in charge of the successful commissioning of the electrical system to ensure that the system is built to the approved design and is compliant with applicable norms and standards. TASKS Creating comprehensive commissioning plans to ensure the electrical integrity of the projects and compliance with all relevant standards. Ensure that ILOS standards are upheld, guaranteeing a high-quality, operational, and safe system according to current norms and regulations. Witness all critical tests (LV/MV/DC) to verify the overall functionality of the system. Review and approve test results from tests performed by the certified testing subcontractor. Responsibility for performing functionality and safety checks during the commissioning of the generation unit Oversee the energisation of the system in a safe and controlled manner, coordinating with both internal and external teams. Coordination and support grid commissioning activities performed by the grid operator or subcontractor, ensuring PV stem side readiness and compliance with grid requirements. Support integration of the system into the corporate SCADA platform, verifying data availability, signal correctness, and basic remote-control functions. Understanding communication equipment and protocols and have good understanding and knowledge of Monitoring portals from different suppliers. Have a good understanding of SCADA system architecture and implementation of it on site. Coordinate with the SCADA supplier, inverter manufacturer, and transformer station supplier to follow-up of commissioning activities and organization of their site visits for cold and hot commissioning Lead the mock PR test and the actual PR test to validate system performance. Performing tests with DNO/TSO Verification and configuration of the monitoring systems, including the inverter manufacturer's portal configuring inverter data logger. Communicates with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure the seamless commissioning of each project and technology. Track and resolve all high-priority issues identified in the snag list before final handover to operations. PROFILE Engineer or technician with extensive electrical knowledge (education in electrical or mechatronics engineering) Highly experienced in low-voltage / medium-voltage testing 5+ years proven experience in commissioning of PV power plants and BESS projects. Deep knowledge of IEC standards, grid codes and local regulations String ability to analyse test results and identify non-conformities Comprehensive knowledge of technical assessments and risk evaluations Hands-on approach Strong communication and organizational skills Fluent in English, with a full driving licence and willingness to travel.
