Job Description
RemoteVA is seeking a detail-oriented Energy Analyst to conduct building energy audits and perform HVAC-focused energy modeling for multifamily and light commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in energy efficiency analysis, HVAC systems, and building performance modeling. You will play a key role in quantifying energy savings, developing accurate reports, and supporting submissions for utility and state energy efficiency incentive programs.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform energy audits and HVAC analysis for residential and commercial buildings. Collect and validate field data to establish accurate energy baselines. Build baseline vs. proposed energy models to quantify savings (kWh, therms, MMBtu). Develop technical reports for incentive program submissions. Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to verify assumptions and ensure report accuracy. RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field. At least 2 years of experience in energy auditing, HVAC analysis, or building performance modeling. Strong understanding of HVAC systems, load calculations, and energy codes. Proficiency with Excel and energy modeling software (e.g., eQUEST, EnergyPlus, OpenStudio, or similar). Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills. Must be available to work 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM EST on a consistent schedule.
