Job Description

This position is part of Novanta’s Advanced Surgery business unit group. Novanta offers highly reliable, precise and safe solutions that enhance system performance and improve patient outcomes. Insufflators, pumps and disposable tube sets, along with medical visualization and operating room integration technologies are the preferred solution for minimally invasive surgery applications. Aufgaben Summary: The Test Engineer is responsible for conducting design verification activities for medical devices and related accessories in line with company procedures. This includes ensuring that all verification work complies with the defined development and validation standards. Additionally, the role involves developing and implementing a standardized, cross-device testing strategy based on the specifications provided by the architecture group. Furthermore, the Test Engineer sets up and maintains an automated test environment to support efficient and consistent testing processes. Main Responsibilities: Analyze system and subsystem requirements and translate them into structured test concepts Develop both standardized and product-specific test specifications Execute system-level and subsystem-level tests and ensure proper test coverage Assess, interpret, and document test results in a clear and traceable manner Support the design and enhancement of automated test benches (hardware & software) Contribute to defining requirements and specifications for test systems Assist in the development and integration of test bench components Perform verification and validation of test setups to ensure reliability Additional Responsibilities: Support risk assessments for devices and systemsInvestigate failures using structured root cause analysis Continuously improve internal processes and work instructions Maintain documentation such as device inventories and test equipment lists Select and evaluate appropriate measurement technologies Contribute to prototype development and component evaluation Support component sampling and final test definition/review processes Qualifikation Required Experience, Education, Skills and Competencies Certified technician / laboratory technician or a Bachelor in electrical engineering or equivalent Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills in English and German. Basic knowledge of measurement technology, electronics, optics, fluid dynamics Programming skills desirable (esp.
