Salary Transparency: This position is intended for candidates with more than 6 years of professional experience. The salary range varies depending on experience, between €90,000 and €110,000 gross per year. Work model: Full-time, primarily on-site with hybrid flexibility. Location: Garching (near Munich), Germany. Muxon is a small, globally active recruitment agency and is conducting this search on behalf of our partner (a European space engineering company specialized in the design and development of large deployable satellite structures and advanced space hardware systems supporting ESA and EU missions). We are looking for a Lead Structural Analysis Engineer to join a highly specialized engineering team working on complex space programs. The company operates at the forefront of European space technology, developing critical hardware for in-orbit applications, launch environments, and qualification testing, with strong involvement in long-term ESA-backed missions. Tasks Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 6 structural analysis engineers working on space programs Drive advanced finite element simulations (modal, static, dynamic, thermal, coupled analyses) using FEMAP/NASTRAN Develop and optimize high-fidelity FEM models for space hardware systems Ensure compliance with ESA/ECSS standards and validation methodologies Perform verification through analytical hand calculations and supporting spreadsheet models Improve simulation workflows and automation using Python, MATLAB, or FORTRAN Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and customers to define and refine technical solutions Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and ESA-level reviews Requirements MSc or PhD in Structural, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering (or related field) +6 years of structural analysis experience within the European space industry Proven leadership experience managing technical teams and complex engineering work packages Strong expertise in FEMAP and NASTRAN Solid understanding of ESA/ECSS structural standards and verification processes Experience with space hardware load cases (launch, in-orbit, qualification) Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or FORTRAN for automation Full professional English (C1 minimum) Solution-oriented mindset with the ability to perform under tight project deadlines Benefits Opportunity to work on real space hardware contributing to ESA and EU missions Long-term stability through secured European space programs High technical ownership and influence over system-level design decisions Multicultural and highly specialized engineering environment Flexible working hours with hybrid arrangement Strong career development opportunities within a growing space technology company If you are interested in contributing to cutting-edge European space projects and leading a high-level engineering team, we would be glad to hear from you.
