Develop and work with colleagues to create regional and country-specific marketing and media plans and ideas to reach audiences for various celebrity campaigns, video launches, investigations, news conferences, and news releasesIdentify, contact, and develop professional relationships with appropriate media outlets and journalists for coverage of issues and campaignsMaintain and update a media databasePrepare news releases and media statements and, if needed, have them translated and make follow-up calls to media outletsTrack and analyze the results of each media pitch and adjust efforts accordinglyDevelop and execute strategies to help the organization’s web content reach targeted audiencesHelp generate content for the organization’s digital assets, including website articles, online advocacy and pledges, and social media platformsCreate and distribute e-mail content to the organization’s members and supportersAct as a spokesperson and give interviews when requiredPerform any other duties assigned by the supervisorThorough commitment to and extensive knowledge of animal rights issues and campaignsDemonstrated exceptional communication skills and written and oral skills in EnglishSome knowledge of or experience with media relations preferredExtensive experience managing social media pages with proven success in fostering engagementExcellent research skillsA sense of urgency and an ability to take initiative and follow throughProven ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlinesAbility to deal with a variety of people in a professional mannerProven ability to work both independently and as part of a teamMust be veganSupportive position with respect to PETA’s philosophy and the ability to advocate for the group’s positions on issues in a professional mannerPETA Asia is dedicated to establishing and protecting the rights of all animals.
