AI Summary Powered by Gemini
This role is for a Senior Verification & Validation Engineer responsible for the end-to-end V&V strategy of autonomous interceptor systems for defense applications. Key requirements include deep experience with military or safety-critical systems and strong engineering judgment, offering an opportunity to ensure the predictability, repeatability, and safety of high-performance interceptor systems.
Job Description
About the RoleWe are developing highly autonomous, high-performance interceptor systems for military and defense applications. These systems operate under extreme dynamic, environmental, and operational conditions and must meet the highest standards of correctness, robustness, and reliability. As a Senior Verification & Validation Engineer, you will own and shape the end-to-end V&V strategy for autonomous interceptor systems, spanning simulation, software, hardware, and system-level validation. Your work ensures that what we build not only works, but works predictably, repeatably, and safely under real operational conditions. This role requires deep experience with military or safety-critical systems, strong engineering judgment, and the authority to challenge designs when evidence is insufficient. What is your Day to Day Mission:Owning the verification and validation strategy for autonomous Counter‑UAS interceptor systemsTranslating system, mission, and safety requirements into verifiable and testable criteriaDesigning and executing multi‑layer V&V activities across simulation, software, hardware, and system levelsPerforming model‑based, simulation‑driven verification and validationExecuting Software‑in‑the‑Loop and Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop test campaignsValidating system‑level and flight‑test behavior under real operational conditionsVerifying autonomy, guidance, navigation, and control behavior including edge cases and off‑nominal scenariosDefining and executing stress tests, fault‑injection campaigns, and robustness testingAssessing system behavior under degraded sensors, actuators, communication loss, and jamming conditionsEvaluating performance under environmental disturbances and adversarial operational scenariosDefining acceptance criteria and readiness gates for prototype, pre‑series, and operational systemsCollaborating closely with systems engineering, autonomy, controls, avionics, simulation, and flight‑test teamsSupporting qualification, certification, and military customer acceptance activitiesDocumenting V&V evidence suitable for audits, reviews, and defense customer evaluationsWhat You Bring to the TeamStrong background in verification & validation, systems engineering, or test engineering for complex systemsMore than 7 years of professional experience in military, defense, aerospace, or other safety‑critical environmentsDeep understanding of requirement‑based verification and system‑level validation methodologiesExperience with failure modes, hazard analysis, and risk assessmentHands‑on experience with SITL, HITL, and simulation‑driven testingAbility to reason about autonomous system behavior beyond component‑level correctnessConfidence to challenge assumptions, test coverage, and “happy‑path” designsStructured, evidence‑driven mindset with strong documentation disciplineAs a plusExperience with autonomous or semi‑autonomous weapon systems, UAVs, or interceptor platformsFamiliarity with military standards, NATO‑style qualification, and defense customer V&V expectationsExperience with fault injection, robustness testing, or Monte‑Carlo analysisUnderstanding of control systems and flight dynamicsExposure to electronic warfare, degraded environments, or contested operationsWhy Join Quantum-Systems?Be at the forefront of next-generation Defence innovation.Work in a fast-paced, agile environment where your ideas make an impact.Collaborate with a team of industry pioneers who are ambitious, bold, and visionary.Opportunities for individual and professional growth in a globally recognized organization.About us:Quantum Systems specializes in the development, design, and production of small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS). The company’s range of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) sUAS are built to maximize range and versatility and to provide operators with a seamless user experience. By integrating cutting-edge software capabilities, like edge computing and real-time AI-powered data processing, Quantum Systems is building next-generation UAS for clients in the defense, security, and public sectors. How to ApplyPlease include as your cover letter:A detailed description of your hands-on projects, including photos, GitHub links, and videos, drawings.
