Subsidence Claims Specialist – Role OverviewThis role sits at the heart of our technical claims operation, providing expert guidance on subsidence issues affecting domestic and commercial properties. You’ll take ownership of your own portfolio of claims, using your professional judgement, engineering knowledge, and problem‑solving skills to drive fair, timely and high‑quality outcomes for customers.Working from a home‑based environment, you’ll combine technical expertise with strong communication skills to support policyholders during what can be a stressful time, ensuring they feel informed, reassured, and treated fairly throughout the process.Key ResponsibilitiesWhat You’ll Be DoingManaging a varied caseload of domestic and commercial subsidence claims, ensuring all service level agreements are consistently met.Assessing, validating, settling or declining claims within your delegated authority, always applying sound technical reasoning and insurance liability principles.Diagnosing structural defects and the causes of damage using information gathered by surveyors, suppliers and other specialistsSkills, Knowledge and ExpertiseA recognised professional building qualification (e.g., MICE, MRICS, MCIOB, MIStructE, MCABE) or active progression toward one.
