We co-founded and led Viafintech (Barzahlen) to 100+ FTE , one of the most successful German fintechs, active in 17 markets across the EU and USA, and sold it in 2021 for a € three-digit million amount to NYSE-listed Paysafe Group. Now we’re off to our next venture. This time we’re building a global champion for prepaid products: gift cards (Apple, Amazon, Google), airtime and eCash all in one simple API. Think of finperks as a stripe/adyen for all prepaid products and payments. We started in summer 2025 and in just a few months we have already onboarded 700+ brands, and our first client goes live by the end of the year. Many people completely underestimate the market size: about €600bn sold per year today, going to €1.8tn by 2028. Instead of 5 players in the chain (brand → issuing tech provider → global distributor → local distributor → client), we connect brands directly with clients via the finperks platform. Today 95% of prepaid is still sold in the Global North; we believe that for the gig economy to monetize the Global South, prepaid will be key - from Netflix and Google to Apple and Uber. We’re a team of <20 in Berlin-Charlottenburg. A mix of our best people from the last journey and brilliant new joiners. High ownership. Low ego. Kind humans. Tasks As a Working Student in HR & Operations, you'll work directly alongside our team and be involved in the full spectrum of running HR and office operations at a fast-growing startup (~10h/week): Contracts & Documentation: Draft, manage, and file employment contracts, amendments, and HR documents making sure everything is accurate, compliant, and up to date Payroll Support: Collect and prepare payroll-relevant data, coordinate with our payroll provider, and keep absence tracking clean and reliable Visa & Relocation: Support international team members through visa applications, work permit processes, and relocation logistics making their arrival as smooth as possible Office Management: Keep our office running smoothly from supplies and vendors to onboarding logistics and the small things that make a big difference to daily work life Employer of Record (EOR): Coordinate with EOR providers for international hires, manage ongoing communication, and help ensure compliance requirements are met across different entities Requirements To thrive in this role, you bring a mix of structure, people sense, and a genuine interest in operations: Drive & Ambition: You're motivated to go the extra mile and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment where no two days look the same Structured Way of Working: You're highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable when it comes to deadlines and sensitive documents Tech-Savvy: You're comfortable with HR tools, spreadsheets, and modern software and can pick up new systems quickly Communication Skills: Excellent German and English communication skills with German fluency being essential as we work closely with German-speaking team members, authorities, and partners Discretion & Professionalism: You handle confidential information with care and understand the responsibility that comes with an HR role Entrepreneurial Spirit: You're excited about building something from scratch and comfortable with the ambiguity of an early-stage company Nice to have: Prior startup/FinTech or HR experience Benefits Real Ownership from Day One: You'll be a full team member with real responsibility, contributing to the people foundation that every great company is built on Learn from Experienced Founders: Work directly with a team that has built and scaled companies before, gaining mentorship that goes far beyond a typical working student role Hands-on HR and Ops Experience: Immerse yourself in all facets of people operations at a fast-growing startup, from compliance and contracts to international hiring and office culture Deep Startup Ecosystem Access: Immerse yourself in Berlin's vibrant startup scene and build a network that will accelerate your career A Role That Grows With You: As the company scales, so does your scope.
